The Waitahanui and Hinemaiaia Rips both fished well last night and again early this morning. There are still a few Browns hanging around out there but the Rainbows are making there presence felt now. There are some very nice fish amongst them as well.
A 8.5 pound Rainbow was taken in the waitahanui River late last week and the Hinemaiaia upper reaches reported some good fishing as well, although the fish had been in there a while they were of good size.

The weather at the moment is bright and hot with a slight breeze just to make the Rip look strong. We are due some stronger winds and a little bit of rain for the next few days however and hopefully this will push a few freshies into the systems.

I have given Lesley the weekend off and so are looking after my two little girls, (sigh no fishing for me). I will more than make up for it next week!!

Take care out there on the water
Regards Shane
