Lake Taupo Trout Fishing And Guiding Report For The 15th Of March 2010

Hey All,

No one took me up on the offer of a guide into a great little river I found and so I had to fish it with Paul and another friend Chris. In the process we found another stream FULL of great conditioned Browns and Rainbows. We had a blast. catch some of the action on my latest U Tube video.

As predicted a small run of winter run trout entered a number of Taupo rivers over the weekend, with the wind that came in. These fish will move through very fast and so you have to be there at the right time. I am pleased to hear that the quality is fantastic, all being fat and healthy. This is being said for the trout coming out of the lake and the rips. I am really looking forward to this winter as I believe we have turned the corner with the quality of trout.

At about this time of year I start to wet line the Tongariro in the morning. You can expect to pick up some big rainbows, and because you fish early in the day, the Browns are on the menu as well. This is a very relaxing way of starting your day and having a good trout smash a wet fly, is way up there on my enjoyment meter.

I have a busy week this week so will post when I can, hope you enjoy the video. I have taught Paul well!!

Regards Shane
