Lake Taupo Trout Fishing And Guiding Report For The 17th Of August 2010

Hey All,

Wow this season is screaming by, we are half way through August!

All the rivers have become fishable now after the weekend rain and should have good numbers of trout holding in the middle and upper sections.

The Hine has continued to fire, this has been a spectacular season for this small river. The water level is high at the moment as they release water from the dam but it is clear enough and some of the stories coming from the Hine relate to very good fish!

The Waitahanui is due a monstrous run and should get it when the Westerly arrives in the next day or so.

The TT dropped very quickly in the end and should be fun to explore. I am sure some of this water will have changed with the deluge it received and so will be fun to explore again. It will probably get a pounding from anglers however as there has not been to many rivers available for fishing.

I am looking forward to getting into the Tonagriro early this week as it should be loaded!!

I have a five day guide starting today and so will have a clearer picture of what is happening out there by the end of the week.

Hope you have all had fun this month so far.

Regards Shane
