All the rain that we were promised last week turned to nothing and the rivers hardly moved, it was tough going on all the rivers despite some very good trout in most of them.
I got onto a good group of Brown Trout, (yes Brownies) in the Waitahanui that would have gone 7 to 8 pounds each of them. Being Brown trout and in the Waitahanui they teased the hell out of me and I didn’t get a strike, it was good fun with the antisipation though. Man some of these were huge. There are some nice rainbows in here as well. Apparently we are going to get the hell Westerly winds early next week and this is going to push a heap of trout into this river. Sorry Luke you will be at school, (hehe)
The Tauranga Taupo had a small run go through but it was hard going for the most of it, not alot of pressure on the TT though and it is such a beautiful river to fish. All the trout we hooked in here were of very good quality, great to see.
The Tongariro has a heap of trout in there but bloody hell do they have their mouths closed firmly!!! Even Ross id telling the truth in his reports now a days and saying it is hard going, well done mate, how does that feel? That bridge area is getting a right royal flogging, looks like the Waitahanui straight when a westerly is blowing.
Next week should be a good one can you get here for it!!!!!!
