Well my guiding season has kicked off with a bang. Unfortunatly so has the wet weather. The Waitahanui fished brilliantly Tuesday but as all the other rirvers in Taupo became blown out everyone converged on the poor old Nui, and once again it got a thrashing. There are certainly pools that are fishing well at the moment and there are plenty of trout spawning which is a great sign. Fish are all in the 3 pound mark but are fat.
I managed to get into a spring feed small stream the other day and got a nice little brown, but man did I have to work for the bugger. It game me a great fight though and was well worth it.
We have some settled weather over us now and heading into the weekend so river levels should drop and trout should be in all rivers.
