Lake Taupo Trout Fishing And Guiding Report For The 23rd Of December 2010

December 23, 2010

Hey All,

All the Taupo Rivers are blown out as of 8.30 this morning. Even the good old Waitahanui is un fishable being high and Brown!

There was a brief respite on Sunday when the Tongariro became fishable but then it shot up again and as of this morning was running at about 79Cm. This will be the first to become fishable as it drops Bloody fast this river!! The poor old Tauranga Taupo is being smashed in the head waters and is well over a meter high. This is a great river to explore in summer, you can have some good days on the TT over summer. Dry Fly’s!!!

The Browns should be turning up about now and go right through till March at the river mouths. This is a fun option if you have never given Rip fishing a go. Never hesitate to send me a email for any questions.

We have some settled weather for the region over the next week so the rivers will drop and maybe produce one last, late winter run!

Merry Christmas to all. May Santa fill your stockings with cool Fishing gadgets!
