Very hard on all the Taupo Rivers over the weekend. The odd trout coming out but in general not a lot moved in. The rain we had certainly made things wet and the TT rose slightly but not enough to induce a good run. The Hinemaiaia was the same and when I fished it at 1.00pm it was low and clear with nothing in it. The Waitahanui had a contest on it over the weekend. The Windsor Lodge had their annual get to gether and this year it was a success. A few good trout were taken from the Waitahanui including a great brown fresh as a daisy and a superb Jack of just on 4.5 pounds, (it looked bigger).
We have some good rain coming in now and this should bring the water levels up this week. I had a busy week last week guiding as many of the New Zealand fisherman are taking me up on my reduced winter rates that I have on now. If you are interested in checking out what I can do for you get in touch.
