Hey All

A long stretch of beautiful waterThe plan this morning was to get up and be in the Hinemaiaia Rip by 7.00am, have my limit by 8.00 am and back home to take the Kids to playcenter. As I flew over the Hinemaiaia bridge I noticed there were no cars in the park. Man do the brakes on my 4WD work well!!! I shot down the bottom by the rock wall and slowly made my way back up, fishing the best lies and pools. By the time I got to the steps pool at 8.00 am, (yes I was late back) I had landed ten good fish and dropped a further 4 or 5. I decided not to fish the steps pool as I had kept two decent Trout and thought someone else would enjoy that piece of water later in the day. I couldn’t believe my luck though.

The Waitahanui had a few fish go through last night and anglers staying at the lodge all enjoyed success on this River. I am fishing with Brendon Mathews tomorrow morning so will have a report for tomorrow.

Regards Shane
