Heaps of snow guys and this was early in the week!!!
Just a quick update before the weekend starts.
The Tongariro and all water up to the Hinemaiaia are blown out with the rain we received today, wow what a deluge!
The Hinemaiaia and the Waitahanui are getting a right royal angling thumping because of it. There are trout ihn these two rivers but with the pressure they are receiving, the going can be slow. The water level has been up for most of the week and there have been some great trout caught in all the fishable rivers. I had reports that the Tauranga Taupo River mouth went off early in the week with some nice trout caught. Other rivers have had 7 pounders taken from them on a regular basis.
I fished for myself today and had some fantastic scraps with these fish, by far the majority of them are fat and strong.
The rivers will fish well into next week.
