Hey All,

I have had a great couple of days on the Waitahanui with fish being pulled from all sections.

dscf0001.JPGYesterday morning I was up early and did the sprint through the top pools. Man the amount of trout spawning just up from Reids was incredible and good to see. I pulled a great Hen out of the roll cast pool just up from Snag bend that gave the 6# AXIUM I was using the hell work out. I finally netted it after a very good fight and smacked it on the head as I wanted a fish for a Video demonstration. I hooked and landed everything yesterday but unfortunately the batteries in the camera dies at the first attempt to photo something!

dscf0002.JPGI was up early again this morning and into the river before anyone else, I was home early as well. I spent most of this morning in the middle section where I really cleaned up, trout were everywhere and in excellent condition, actually I believe they are the best all season. A friend came in later in the morning and told me that he had dropped a honey of a trout in Reids, he pointed to the trout behind the till on the wall and almost compared it to that!!!!

dscf4151.JPGJust a little plug for the Feather Merchants AXIUM. I dropped the line weight back down to six to match the rod and also cut down my indicator to a more reasonable size, WOW great rod. A fantastic selling point on these Feather Merchants rods is the full life time guarantee that they come with. I am on the Whanganui for the next couple of days and Nate has allowed me to take it for a test drive in there so hopefully I will have some great photos and maybe a video or two to show you the action.

dscf0003.JPGAll the rivers came up in volume today due to the front that passed through but with no further rain in the forecast they should drop and be full of fish for the weekend, get here if you can.

Regards Shane
