Hey All

dscf4045.JPGI took Bill from Putararu  out yesterday morning for a half day, We picked up these great conditioned fresh run trout on  the Tauranga Taupo. My God there were some vehicles in the car park! We also shot down and did a few pools on the Waimarino. This river looked great but there were no fish taken from us here. What a beautiful morning it was.

Later on in the Day Steven Bird from Wellington rocked up to say hello and decided to stay the night so we could have a fish in the Waitahanui today. We did some casting on the lake front as he brought up his latest ZAxis from Sage. Awesome rod now all he needs to do is learn how to cast, (hehe). I will put on the video an attempt of me trying to Double Haul!!

dscn2064.JPGThis morning after making Steven the mother of all Omelets I dragged his arse down onto the Waitahanui. We quickly did the cliff pool area for zero takes and then shot up to the upper pools. I took one poor little spent Jack from Reids and one just down from Snag. Steve hooked every piece of foliage that was hook-able, but hey he looked good while he was doing it! I took another just up from Snag in the roll cast pool and then fished Gordon Williams from the true Left, roll casting down into the deep Back Eddy and letting it come back towards me. I took one here as well. Steven was depressed by this stage and was “Just enjoying being out there”. Not a lot of fish in the Nui, they are still moving through FAST!! If you strike a run of trout stay with them, don’t over walk the group and you should have some fun.

Big earthquake here this morning!!

I am thinking about putting something else on the web site and would appreciate some feedback from you guys. I will post on the forum board and it would be great if you could let me know what you think.

dscf1063.JPGTake care all, thanks for the comments on the video link, it is keeping me busy trying to get good footage. I got Steve to video me roll casting up into a tight piece of water above snag this morning, he videoed for about 15 drifts then put it away, I caught one after that!!!!!!!
