Hey all

Up early this morning and off to the Hinemaiaia with an American angler . Second cast in the steps pool and wham! that was it though!!!!!!!

Don’t know the name but man it works! From there we sprayed down and shot through to the Tongariro. First up was the Red Hut area. Man have you looked over the bridge there. Shit Trout for Africa!!!!!! We worked our way up stream on the true right picking up Trout as we went. Again the red copper john did all the damage in size 16. At one stage we got onto a heap of trout that wouldn’t touch a thing we threw at them. In the end I tied on a Green Humpy and the little Nymph in the picture, second drift through and a trout darted in and snatched the Nymph. We managed to drag three more out before it went quiet. From there we made our way back to the car and fished the braids. There are lots of trout in this section as well although plenty of them are spawned out fish. At this stage we were pulling them on a champagne orange dot glo bug. A great day on the Tongariro.

From the lodgeCheck out the magnificent sun set last night, what a place we live in.
