Hey All,

I haven’t had much of a chance to put my line on the water over the past 2 week, hence the lack of reports.

dscf4247.JPGWe are fully moved in now and look forward to this new direction. Taupo is an awesome place to live and we have made many good friends while being here, both socially and threw the Lodge.

I personaly hope to carry on my guiding however it will most likely become a second role for a while.  However I will ALWAYS be available for guiding while I live in Taupo, full time or part time.

From what I have heard! Sob Sob…….

dscf3649.JPGThe Waitahanui has still got a few freshies roaming around in there. I have heard this from a number of people now.

dscf4258.JPGNo idea about the Hine, but will go and have a good look in there soon! The car park has been empty everytime I have traveled over it.

The Tauranga Taupo is low and so it will be hard, but if you took your time through the water and went small and stealthy you should hit fish. Feather Merchants put out a Mini Glo Bug in Orange, red dot. This as your point fly can be deadly on this river using 6 pound Fluro. As I write this however there is a heap of rain about to hit the North Island and the chances are the TT will rise a little. If that does happen fresh trout should enter. Keep an eye on the flow chart!

dscf3548.JPGThe Tongariro certainly has fish in there. OMG there is sooooooo much water to fish on this river. One Guide who I know is Andrew Christmas. If you are looking for a guide who will “Try for you” then Andrew is up there. He has excellent knowledge and a high success rate on the Tongariro. Little plug for ya there bro, thanks.

Back Country!!

dscf4224.JPGWe need some constant warm weather and it will all happen. I did here a Cicada while on the Whanganui this week but then the wind and rain came in and I am sure the poor little bugger froze!! Really looking forward to the summer season and fishing the back country rivers. I have a few new ones on the list to fish but there is just TOOOOOOOOO much water out there!!

Regards Shane
