I walked some of the Waitahanui yesterday and thought the River looked awesome. Great flow with deep pools. I didn’t see too many trout in there but didn’t do the upper pools at all. Apparently last week there had been a good group of Rainbows go through.
I have had continuous reports of good numbers of smelt out in the lake, so start stocking up on some of these little beauties.
The rip will start to get a few Browns hanging around as well. Taking one of these awesome trout at night, should be on all fishermans tick list. It’s quite a thrill!
Hey I heard AC fell over and damaged his camera. Sorry to hear that bro, hate it when you have a good shot but no way of taking it. God should have given you one more set of legs to help ya!
I couldn’t sleep the other night and so got up and read Ross’s report for the day. As always wickedly informative on the Tongario and surrounding area. However I did stumble on the remark that one of his Tongariro muffins managed quite a few trout out of one pool, with the same number of casts. On the Waitahanui we generally do the same thing, except its so big that we just go home then, leaving the pool for someone else. Oh and I slept really well after reading it as well, so cheers.
Is this what you are trying to emmulate Ross, with the Pine tree killing spree you twats are up to!
