Hey all,

Rain on the wayThe crowds have gone off the rivers and there are plenty of Trout in all the tributaries of lake Taupo. The wind hasn’t really let up for the past three days and we have more on the way, with a little rain thrown in for good measure.

A beautiful stretch of the Waitahanui RiverI walked the lower reaches of the Waitahanui late this morning picking up three Trout on my way up. I didn’t spook anything and so in my opinion the river down low was a little light on fish. The trout that i landed were all nice little specimens of about 3 pounds. They all took a size 14 black peacock Nymph with a small red tail. The glo bug didn’t get a look in today.
