Hey all,

dscf3586.JPGFantastic winter conditions for the trout to run at the moment, and they are. At the moment the Tongariro is a bit up and down with the water volume and it won’t take too much more before it becomes un- fishable. The TT is well and truly blown out and won’t be back down for a few days, it should be good then.

The Hinemaiaia is a good option although I haven’t has a report in for today on it.

dscf3588.JPGI guided on the Waitahanui this afternoon, going through the lower and middle reaches with Kym from Auckland. He took me up on one of my specials that I have going at the moment. We caught up with the fish at the Fence pool and slayed them all the way up from there! These fish are in fantastic condition and really dealt to us on several occasions. We hooked into 9 in total and had a few more strikes as well, it kept us busy!

All next week should be good on all the rivers, get here if you can before the school holidays start.

Regards Shane
