Just come back from a guide on the Waitahanui with a client / Friend. What a great day to be on the water, hard to believe that the weather is meant to pack up tomorrow and rain across the whole of the north island. We headed up into the top pools and managed to get into a few up there. Reid’s has been fishing well for months now and had a few in there today. I haven’t pulled a trout out of snag all season and again today it was empty, what the hell is going on in that pool!!!! The Waitahanui has a few trout in there that is for sure. We came across a pod of about 15 in stones on the way back down, some very good trout as well.
OMG the shop was busy Saturday, what a way to learn the ropes. Apparently it was wall to wall bodies at the Seeka show and so they all turned up at Hunting and Fishing, at once!!!!!! We have some excellent specials at the moment on clothes so if you need anything pop in and have a browse.
The rest of new Zealand trout water opens up on Wednesday so come in and get your licence, we are giving away an AWESOME little pocket knife with every licence sold and you go into the draw to win a BOAT!!!!!!! I have my water all sussed out for next weekend and have back up rivers just in case it is flooded.
Take care out there and tight lines for opening day
