Hey All.

I rafted down the Tongariro yesterday for the very first time. Wow the river is an amazing place up there. The only way to fish this section as I see it would be to raft it. There are some fantastic runs and pools in this section. I don’t think the rafting guide could understand my constant drooling! We went down with Tongariro River Rafting. They were well organised and proffesional, fully reccomend them.

dscf0326.JPGI fished the Tauranga Taupo for a few hours yesterday afternoon as well, just up from the bridge. The water always looks so damn good here. I picked up two of these before time ran out.

dscf0302.JPGI have heard a few decent rainbows went into the Waitahanui last week. The river mouth also fished well. I hope all you Brown Trout hunters are having a good season so far. I believe it to be a good one.

dscf0999.JPGI spoke to Andrew Christmas today and he informed me the Tongariro has been fishing well. This is certainly one river that you can explore with a dry fly and dropper from now on. The trout can sit close in as well, so you don’t always need that big cast and heavy weight.

Take care on the water
