Lake taupo Trout Fishing report for the 29th December 2007

I fished the Tauranga Taupo this morning. There are good numbers of trout throughout the entire river and many of them are fresh. We landed four very nice trout and kept one of them, it went just under 4 pounds. They were very spooky and a stealthy approach is needed. The river mouth is fishing well!
In the afternoon we scuttled down to the Tongariro and fished below the bridge, again trout were everywhere. We managed to land two nice hens in short order, both taking Green Caddis. Angling pressure was ZERO.
