Lake Taupo Trout fishing Report For The 29th of July 2007

Hey All,

A very busy weekend on all the rivers due to a few angling clubs having their annual weekend away and a few tournaments going on as well. The Tongariro river was like an ant hive yesterday and although fish were taken from all sections it was hard to find space at times.

No reports in from the Tauranga Taupo river but I am sure it got a pummeling as well. Being low and clear would not have helped any!!

The Hinemaiaia was VERY busy all yesterday. If you managed to get there and it wasn’t you were lucky. Some good fish came out of here yesterday morning but cars were arriving at 4.45 am to be on the water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Waitahanui Anglers Improvement Association had it’s annual contest this weekend and so there were a few people on this River as well. Some nice fish have been taken from the upper pools of late with the rip producing some nice fish as well.

We are about to get a good dumping of rain over the next twenty four hours and this should help all the rivers fill up again.

Take care out there

Regards Shane
