Lake Taupo trout fishing report for The 29th Of October 2007

Hey all

I have been busy guiding over the past couple of days both in the Taupo fishery and the wider district. It was the first time I had ventured outside of Taupo for the season, it was great fun!

I did a special for four guys on Sunday, giving them training on the Waitahanui. We picked up two very nice fish, one on the wet line down from Cliff and one on the nymph at Colonels bend. There were a few trout in the river Sunday and it was a great day to be out there.

Today we went back country. I was a little disappointed with the numbers of fish in the river we visited but could not complain at their size and fighting ability. The little black peacock and claret worked well in tandem with a size 14 furnace flash back Pheasant tail. The algae on the rocks is minimal at the moment and once again the day was picture perfect.

God we live in the best place in the world!
