Lake Taupo Trout fishing reports For The 20th September 2007

Hey all,

I went for a early fish this morning on the Waitahanui. I fished the middle and upper section of this river. The middle section has a heap of good fish in the pools. Every pool i came across had at least two or three fish in there. I pulled a nice Jack out of Washer womans and dropped a cracker in little Cliff. The upper pools also have some good fish in there. Reids has a heap of spawning fish in there. I got my first fish for the season out of Gordon Williams as well! All took Glo Bugs,(you know the colour) .

The Lake seems to be fishing well at the moment. I watched a boat harling off the rip yesterday morning while doing up one of the lake front rooms. It must have stopped 6 times over 40 minutes. The only down side was that it was only 150 meters off the rip!!!

We could do with a little wind at the moment but apart from that all the rivers seem to be in good condition and most of them have trout holding in them. There is always the chance you are going to hit one of those older fish as well!

Cheers Shane
