Report for 10th of July 2007

Hey All

The Waitahanui fished a wee bit harder today, especially in the upper pools. Very few anglers but then very few fish as well. The Rip has been excellent on the change of light, with multi colored heave and Leaves doing the damage.

The pressure seems to have come off the Hinemaiaia due to the other rivers being fishable. Some nice fish have come out of the straight over the past couple of days.

The Tauranga Taupo has been flogged and some of the fish are TERRIBLE. Man this year has been a shocker for small or under conditioned fish. If it doesn’t get better then we have to start asking some questions! Is it time to stock our precious lake? These small, ugly, thin under conditioned Hens that are spawning with small Jacks are only going to create small ugly babies. Is that the trend we are heading towards?

Email me and let me know what you think.
