Hey all,

Steven with a little 3 pound Maiden, released. The Waitahanui river fished differently for anglers today. If you were on the water early then there were a few decent fish about. If you got there a little late then you would have found it difficult. I fished with my son from the main road Bridge up to the Crescent Pool for one fish landed. The water is perffect at the moment and I am sure a good run is not far away.

The Waitahanui rip is looking like it may improve over the next little while, with a good drop off and a small gut opening up on the true left. Good flow had it ripping out this afternoon and looked perfect. Hopefully it will entice a few fish to run.

Looking out from the Tauranga Taupo River mouth.I shot down to the Tauranga Taupo river mouth as well this afternoon. The river is still running very high and is too coloured to fish with Glo Bugs at the moment. A big Red Setter retrieved close to the banks could see you hooked up. The River mouth again looked great, with very deep and clear water in quite close. I didn’t get anything here but again it felt like it could come on at any stage.

Regards Shane
