Russell with 4 pound Hen one of many in the lower reachesThe fish are in small pockets on the Waitahanui, you can fish a large section of water with no strikes and then move into a section with plenty of fish. Some of these just will not take a thing as well!!! We Pulled out a few in the lower section straight up this morning and then moved into the middle section for a look see. Although this section held good numbers of Trout they were very hard to get onto and extremely spooky. The Waitahanui is LOW and CLEAR.

Nice fish on the Hinemaiaia. The Hinemaiaia has had a few fish go through over the past couple of days as well but like the Waitahanui they are in small pockets throughout the river. Whole sections of this great System are devoid of fish and then BAM, you are onto them. Dutch CDC flies worked well on this river today.

The Tongariro seems to be the river to be on at the moment with good fishing throughout the system, there are some very nice fish amongst them as well.

The Weather is fine at the moment, we had our first frost this morning, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, I will be complaining of the cold soon!

Hope everyone is catching fish at the moment.
