Hey Catch,

I haven’t been on your site for a wee while, but I jumped on this morning and I see you are now putting some kind of bloody huge watermark over your photos... This is a real shame as it really detracts from your amazing photography..

I appreciate you may have done it because other guides or something might be ripping off your photos, but is there another way that wont ruin your photos?

-I have noticed on some sites they have protection for their images so that if you try and copy or save them it says that option is not allowed. Or alternatively you could imprint your company name in one of the corners like they do one the news as to not detract from the image itself?

Just a thought anyway..

Cheers and Merry Xmas!

I'll try to put them in places that won't detract from the photo but yes they have been downloaded from Motels and such without a phone call or email first.

That sucks! -You should name and shame the b'stards that steal your photos so that we can tell our friends and family NOT to stay with them!

If anyone asks me where to stay, I say ya cant got past either of those lake front units at Waitahanui lodge.. Magic location!

Merry Xmas

PS Whereabouts on your website do I go if I want to buy the flies or the leader yo yo thing? Cheers

dragonflyguides@xtra.co.nz

Let him know what you want and he will E-mail back prices and how to pay.

Safe and easy!

Catch,

You do get some wonderful shots and we all enjoy them, but in an effort to stop the thieving bastards, can you reduce the size of the watermark and place it somewhere less obtrusive. Rather than the lengthy "Dragonfly River Guides" maybe a small Logo of some sort would be enough to identify you and discourage pilfering?

Cheers

The whole idea of a water mark,(as I see it) is to ruin the photo if somebody tries to print it or save it to a screen saver. I will lower the size and brightness but with the fantastic editing programs about, a smaller watermark could be easily removed.
