Just received the latest issue of Target Taupo and read about the artifical reef at the river mouth. Do you see this as a positive? I know Catch is never short for words and I'm surprised he hasn't voiced an opinion, unless I've missed something?Huh

Yeah I have said one or two things about it but am really waiting to see what comes of it all. It is a BLOODY eye sore, the whole outlook from the shore has been ruined by the HUGE pile of rocks. The Waitahanui rip has not been effected yet but has certainly formed a huge fan shape. I don't know if this has anything to do with the huge amount of sand placed by the rocks and being washed down due to current flow but I would hate for the rip to shallow up because of the extra sand. The area by the rocks has deepened up hugely and may attract some fish in the future once aquatic life settles there. You can't wade out to the rocks it is so deep.
