So Geoff Fishie...  Tell us more about this epic battle with the 8 pounder!.. How long was the fight? Did it run up or downstream? Sounds like it was in the evening.. What phase was the moon in? Above or below the SH1 bridge? What fly did you use?
Sounds like landing it was a mission that involved more than yourself!.. Did you release it or did it end up in the smoker?..

..You get the idea that those of us stuck at work want some juicy details!.. ;-)

It would also be great to see a photo.. But Im pretty sure we cant post photos on this forum, eh?

PS Im glad to hear catch is feeling better.. From what Ive heard passing one of those bloody stones is comparable to child birth!

Phil gave him the kudegra and my mate smoked him. big fresh 8 pounder, nice flesh aye. Yeah coincidentally i do have a photo of it but man i look like a mug! yeh sorry you were ill catch must have been a bitch. you give gave some pretty good advice though! ill make you a rangetikei convert someday. or maybe not, with the waitahanui right on your doorstep. man that upper river is nice and peaceful.
