Hey there everyone, i have become the proud owner of a almost (by 15 years) brand spanking new luxury 10ft tinny and was wondering about fly fishing from a boat - can someone give me some tips maybe about the big O ? I have read that it is possible to harl with a fly rod and a sinking line - can anyone shed some light on that or some tips would be great ! Thanks.

Hey Tie1on,
Can't believe no one has replied to this dude, now is the time to be up there as well.
Yes heaps of methods to be fished from a tinnie up at lake O. Find those weedy drop offs, they are close in to the shore line and then either using wet flies or Nymphs cast out and retrieve. There are a whole heap of flies just dedicated to lake O, being blood worms, damsel nymphs and snail imitations. Small Green Woolly Buggers are always handy to have in the box. Floating lines with a long leader and a tiny indicator with two small black Nymphs cast out and VERY slowly retrieved apparently can take them as well. Have a fast sinker as well with some Green Bobbies and use a small stripping action.
I have only fished the lake once, sorry tie1on but that was with Brendon and so I gained a wealth of knowledge very quickly. What I do understand about this lake is that you can be skunked here more so than on any other piece of water but when you strike it right the fishing is awesome. Hope this helps and that another forum member might put something up to help you also.
