orbitdownloader.com
Grab that program, now when you visit any web page with Music or You Tube, you can rip the video or music to your Hard Drive.

You should be able to search on you tube for any of Catch's Videos and that program lets you download them from that page or from Taupofishing.com

You may not have an FLV Player on your computer, go here for an excellent free one
http://www.flvsoft.com/flv_player/

Let it associate to play all .flv files and away you go!

Just a little more on the Orbit program, as it is not clearly explained how to use it.

When it installs, it starts automatically with Windows.  If you don't like that (and you don't do a lot of downloads), there is a setting so this doesn't load automatically and you can just fire it up when you need it from a desktop icon.  Also in the settings, make sure you point it to a folder where things are going to be saved (Good idea to have a DOWNLOAD folder on your desktop for all downloads from anywhere)

If you double click the Orbit icon to bring up the main page BEFORE you go to You-Tube, you then need to start the GRAB-IT tool (you have to do it this way to grab stuff).  This also goes to the tray of icons on the right bottom.  Now when you play a video or listen to Music on a web page, the 'Grab-it' screen pops up and asks you if you want to grab that program.

Easy and it lets you play the grabbed video in the Moyea FLV Player and resize the screen for better viewing.

Note grabbed videos can be quite large, the latest one Catch put up of the guy landing the undersized trout <smile> is about 4.5 Mb.

Hey Catch, the Wanganui videos are outstanding mate , I'll definetly be doing one of those trips with ya Hopefuly inside the next 12 months.
Is it possible for you to make a 3 minute video instead of a bunch of 30 or 40 second ones?
I't's a pain in the arse having to wait for each one to load especially when you're just getting interested and it finishes.

Yeah dude that was the idea to splice them together, unfortunately my program and or disk failed to allow me that option and so the only way to get them on was to individually stack them like I have done.
Sorry for the inconvenience, thanks for the comments though dude.

Shane - your videos are, as they say "the duck's nuts". I love being able to see the Taupo rivers I enjoy fishing (note I haven't said catching!!!) rather than just a report (not that your reports are not worth reading - they are). The Waitahanui is just a joy with the bush, birds and just the tranquility. Your video today of the "new pool" created after the 2004 flood and of the cliff pool was great. What length leader did you use in the cliff pool because as far as I remember it's pretty deep in there?  I remember a couple of years ago seeing about 20 "submarines" in the deepest part of that pool (right in the swirly piece of course and too deep to get at).

This is the sort of stuff that I, and I think many other fishos that don't get up there as often as we should, relish. Keep it up.

Thank you Troon and GF much appreciated, I really enjoy doing this and so will keep it up, if you have any requests let me know, as long as it does not require swimming in the Waitahanui!!!
