A lot of these rods have a lifetime guarantee against breakage, no matter how you did it.  I think TF does, but not Kilwell.  Shane will pop into the discuaaion and tell you.

Just return it to where you bought it and ask them to get you a new tip and it comes Free-of-Charge.

One reason you don't mind paying top dollar for some of these rods.

Hey guys
Yeah that shouldn't be a problem Magpie, when you bought the rod there should have been a guarantee in there, did you send that away? Even if you didn't I am sure TF will honor it since you bought it from me. They will however charge you a fee for the new tip, this is somewhere around the $30.00 mark but the rod is fixed very quickly.Take it into a sports shop over your way, or get it to me so I can personally take it into Nate, just let me know.Good to hear from you mate as well.

As for your innovation Geoff_fishie, they have a 5 year unconditional guarantee on them. I am not too sure what their policy is outside of this but they are a NZ company you are a young guy who loves the sport and I am sure they will come to the party for you. Take it into one of the sporting shops down your way and see what they say. If you are not happy with the outcome get back to me and I will speak to the rep I used to deal with up here and see what I can do. Pull the heart strings a little bit Geoff!!

Gidday Shane,
Hey thats great I was pretty pissed yesterday after my little accident but to find out it's an easy fix is great.
I will give you a bell in a couple of days and get your address details and send it up to you. and thank you Kotuku. it's great to be able to get advice etc.
I didn't register the rod so anything you can do shane would be appreciated. Also want to buy some of your indicators so will sort that out as well (do you still sell them ?)

Hey Magpie
Yip no probs either send me an email or contact me by phone, 073767312 and I will sort the rod out for you. Yes I still sell the indicators, in fact I have a batch about ready to go. Are you after the bigger ones that we used on our guide or the small sliding ones for smaller summer water?
