Hey all !

Shane, you say in your last report that you have to get down to the Hatepe rip.
A little birdie tells me that 3 anglers got 11 between them last night in the early evening
and followed that up with another 3 this morning! Must have been that dirty weather you
had in the last few days. Like it or not, heave and leaves are reportedly the go! Also had a whisper
that a blowfly humpy accounted for 7 good fish in the Hine last weekend.
And for you buggers that are making a beeline for there right now - just save a few for me!!
Arriving Wed night for a couple of weeks.
Catch you there Shane - you know where the beers are on!

Fish there last night with 6 others, nice rip and good flow, landed 5, kept 2 nice fish, rest too skinny. The rips should start too fire soon and abit of rain will get the jacks up the river waiting for the hens to follow.

fished friday morning, bloody cold on the finger tips, very slow, landed 3,kept 2,no other hits.fished both sides of the rip.One other guy there, said he had 1 or 2 hits that was it. he said had been fishing the nui rip in the mornings and was hopeless too.
Has any one been to any other rips lately.

Hi all

fish4u, I think I was one of the other 6 on the night of the 1st and I left yesterday morning to return home, so you had it to yourself!
Certainly been tough over the last fortnight with plenty of razor strops. Managed a couple of good sessions though that made it
worthwhile. Bit of fun up the river on dries for a couple of days and a great wander round to the white cliffs one morning on the stalk
with the polaroids. Only came back empty handed 'cause I duffed the strike. Pity, it was a nice fish.
I also heard a report that the mouth of the TT gave up a few one morning.
Rain and a good blow badly needed in my opinion. I may have been a month too early !
Good luck to all over there - I'm green as hell. Back to work monday.
Shane - your absence in the social and beer drinking stakes has not gone un noticed!!! Bro leaves in a couple of weeks so you still got
time to catch up.

Whoops forgot all about that!! I saw him on Friday and have arranged to catch up properly. Sounds like you had some great fishing while you were here. The weather was kind to you as well. Sorry I missed you though dude as it would have been good to chew the fat with you. Next time for sure. Did you catch up with Paul while you were here?
