im gonna be in taupo this thursday till sunday. there is no limit on where i can go round taupo. so how are the rivers doing guys? im gonna be based in waitetoko so ill probably spend some time at the waitetoko rip and others like waimarino and hine. gonna fish the nui at somepoint. and the tt. waimarino with a 6# you say? sounds like interesting fishing ill have to give that a go too  Tongue we got snow in puk bay for the first time since 1997, so there must be a few trout in the rivers!

fished the hine rip the other night till 10pm for one hit, very slow, but night before 10 fisherman and afew fish caught.moon is up now so the rips will be getting harder. The rivers are low and clear and we need some rain to get some more fish moving into them.Have been catching the odd one or two this week in the nui and the  hine. The last time we  had a good run into the rivers was 1-2 weeks ago when river got aheap of rain.Fished the TT and caught aheap of fish, not big but in the 2.5-3.5 lb range, could have kept every one of them, all nice and orange for the smoker.Good Lucky for this week coming.                                                    Tight Lines...

was hard fishing overall. nui had a few fish up top. the rips fished well for me especially "that little one". tt sucked! the tongariro had a few fish but they were all dark and a bit on the slabby side. i was the only person i talked to that had got fish and i think getting the fly right in front of the fish (on the bottom) was important. i also pulled two from that eddy at boulder reach hi sticking wooley buggers, it works! only freshies i got was from the rips but man it was nice. a guy that works for DOC was telling us yous havent had a fresh for 4 weeks! heave and leaves, champagne orange dot ones were the bomb in the rips for me.
