I am right handed and have always had my reel on the right hand side, (reeling in with the right hand), even swapping over the clutch system on new reels when bought with the lest hand wind. I always come up against the anglers who when borrowing my gear complain that the reel is on the wrong side for them, even when they are right handed. The other day I bought a Sage reel and it was set for the left handed position.  I left it like that and have been using it for myself. It is GREAT, once your brain gets over the fact you are winding with your left, it feels very natural. You are also holding the rod with your right , (which should be your strongest arm, if right handed), no swapping over hands at the start of the fight either. What are your views?

Right-hand cast, left-hand wind. Simple. I have always done it that way, and many years ago changed all my spinning gear over. There's been a heap of discussion on this on different forums, and everyone has their say. I don't think there is a right or wrong way, but I just hate switching the rod over to the other hand. To me it seems easier doing it this way.  Grin
